Mic for steel
Have any of you guys tried the Senhieser 609 for steel? I've been using one lately and I feel it is much smoother than a SM57. Any thoughts on this? Terry Miller

Re: Mic for steel
I do not know what the differences are between the 609 and the e 609 silver but I have had an e 609 silver (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/profession ... 600_500074) for several months and I like it well enough. I have used it to mic an amp for a regular electric guitar and for a PSG and it seems to do well for both. I am only doing amateur recording into GarageBand so I don't have particularly tough requirements but for what I am doing I give the thing 2 thumbs up. No sound problems at all.Terry Miller wrote:Have any of you guys tried the Senhieser 609 for steel? I've been using one lately and I feel it is much smoother than a SM57. Any thoughts on this?
