I bought one of these on the recommnedation of Tommy Detamore a couple of years ago. And I'm continually impressed with 'bang for the buck'.

I'll admit that I don't have a big dollar large diagphragm condensor (i.e. Neuman etc.) to compare side by side, but I'm very pleased with the way it sounds, and I've found very few singers that it won't work with, with a little adjustment.

Are they all this good? I know one of the knocks on the Chinese mics is consistency, unit to unit...Or am I the only one that thinks they are such a bargain? $200 bucks online... Yeah fine mics,
C1 is serious bang for the buck.

And the T1 tube version A B tests with some classics
and comes out more than 'just good'.
For the price it's surprising to say the least.

Their stereo mic has very nice imaging too.

David, I kinda googled for some AB tests on that mic and couldn't find anything. You don't happen to have a link do you?

Also, how bout more pics on the studio buildout? anything else happening?

The tests I did were in person at an Audio Engineering Society
convention somewhere in europe, maybe Amsterdam or Copenhagen.

It was a number of years ago.
I have heard no bad comments about them since.
I have planned to get a pair,
but for reasons beyond my control haven't yet.

I have used them in sessions,
and still want a pair.

I have 6 large diaphram mics in my mic closet, including a couple more expensive non-chinese models, yet I am consistantly using a Studio Projects B3 that I got about a year and a half ago, it just works well with any voice or acoustic instrument. I am very impressed with their quality for cost factor. Just my two cents!

I may try one of the B3s, they look interesting.

I found this while searching for some reviews. Lot's of MP3 samples of various mic/preamp combinations for vocals, guitar amps, etc.. Seems like a pretty fair, unbiased A B type comparison, by some 'name' engineers, producers.

Session 2, various mic/pre combos on a guitar amp is particularly interesting.

I bought several of the original JoeMeek side-address large diaphram condensers on a blow-out from the distributor some time ago, and the newer JoeMeek mics look and sound nothing like these. I've been told they were the beta models for the high end Studio Projects mics. Anyone else heard a similar tale?
These are some of the best all-purpose condensers I've owned ( I have a lot of mics). Sound great on everything from Female vox to fiddle.
The whole Studio Projects line is a great value.
