What's that sound? (Steve Fishell)
Driving to work today, listening to a home-made compilation from country radio, and on came Radney Foster's "Old Silver".
A great (to my ears) steel sound, but I can't figure out what it is - not quite dobro, not quite electric lap steel - maybe a Weissenborn? Research on AllMusic.com suggests it was Steve Fishell. Anyone know more? Thanks in advance.

Probably a Weissenborn. I know I've seen photos of Mr. Steve playing one. Good ears.
He played with Emmylou Harris in the '80's and early '90's and still does for all i know.
