Gibson lap steel pickup

Post by Joel Glassman »

Friends,
I'm looking for a "Charlie Christian"
type single-coil pickup for a do-it-yourself project.
An original Gibson, an original in need of rewinding, or a replacement pickup would
be fine. It needs to have a bar magnet,
not individual polepieces. Any thoughts on
how to track one down, and how much it might cost? thanks, Joel

I don't know of any one that is currently making the requested pickup, but Seymour Duncan's Custom Shop might make you one. They are in Santa Barbara CA. You should be able to get their phone number off their website.
