Ken Rutherford's Rubber Tip for Fender Custom

Post by Al Gershen »

Hi Ken Rutherford:

I just wanted you to know that one of the rubber tips from the leg of your Fender Custom triple neck steel guitar fell off this afternoon at my apartment.

(Ken is visiting southern Oregon this weekend and I'm hoping he reads this posting before he drives back to John Day, Oregon.)

Just go to any full service hardware store. Rubber tips are easily available in black or white. They're cheap, usually about 75 cents each.

This is off topic. I am glad to see someone from Oregon. Is there any where I could go to hear the Steel guitar? Any festival/performance/bar/event in Oregon, preferebly near Portland, Oregon? (I am a new member, trying to get back to Steel guitar playing after a long hiatus.)

Thanks

Surinder

Hi Surinder Singh:

I'm not at all familiar with the Portland area but in southern Oregon we have a new "Oregon Western Swing Association" that holds a monthly music presentation at the Restin Hotel every second Sunday (tomorrow afternoon) in Medford, Oregon.

I also play pedal steel guitar with a traditional country band at a weekly dance in Rogue River, Oregon every Saturday night.

If you happen to be traveling in southern Oregon, please contact me by e-mail and I'll give you further information.

I'm sure others in the Portland area will contact you about steel guitar music in that area of the state.

Good luck with your playing! Image
