anyone has that one tabbed out? I'd like to have a guide at least for the intro and 1st verse. This is my favourite steel instro but I never nailed it down. Probably never will... must have something to do with that special Mooney tuning and pedal setup.
Any help would be highly appreciated
As I recall, this tune (and the Mooney style, in general) was the subject of a multi-part series of articles Jeff Newman wrote in the late 70s (?) for the PSGA Newsletter. I can't seem to find my archive of newsletters, but maybe someone else is more organized.
andy,
the whole thing is written out in an old steel guitarist magizine ,issue #5 with ralph on the cover.According to bob grossman who tabbed it,his tuning lacked the top f# and d# strings when he composed it in the 50s,so he tabbed it using an 11 string guitar. This issue is available from tom bradshaw at pedal steel guitar products. Tele, sorry I don't have the tab. I think if you play the song really slow on a program like goldwave and you can really hear the changes. When I tried it the strings and their changes really came into focus, but I haven't actually tried to play it yet. I hope this helps.

Andy,
Here's the intro to the piece. Key of A. "^" = pull-off (hop the bar off the fret.} It's not much, but it's all I can do for now. Anyone else is welcome to try some of it. It sounds quite hard and would be a feather in someone's cap to figure it out, I think.
great, thanks so far.
Another forumite has copied the tab and it to me yesterday. This thing is really complicated...even with the tab it will take a long, long time.
Thanks for all your help fellas !!!!
