Merry Christmas from a LIfetime Music Junkie!

Post by Jerry Overstreet »

Hello. My name is Jerry Overstreet and I'm a gear junkie.

I need help. This habit has caused much frustration along with tremendous joy.

I cannot resist the temptation to acquire equipment for playing music, be it pedal steel, dobro, lap steel, slide guitar, keyboard, mandolin, flute, electric or acoustic guitars, baritone and bass guitars.

To paraphrase the old saying jack of all trades master of none, player of multiple instruments, master of none, embarrased by some.

To be fair. Pedal steel is what I do well and what I get calls for.
Standard guitar has been in my life since I'm big enough to drag one around starting with the Arthur Godfrey cardboard guitar.

Always involved with music in church and school and so the piano was my first real introduction to knowledge of music, but I'd sooner have been playing baseball or chasing girls at 9 yrs. old or so.

Money spent, some wasteful, some valuable, none regretted.
Merry Christmas music junkies. 🤪 🤑 🤩 🎅 🎄

Merry Christmas Jerry, I would like to add the friends I have made through music such as yourself!

It has been an honor to get to know you and I sure thank you for all the help you have given me these last 6 years since I started pedal steel.

My music friends have been such a blessing in my life. I started playing music with my first music partner when I was 12 and he was 13. I am glad to say at 70 and 71 we are back picking together on a regular basis.

Music has sure been good to me!

Jerry; I as well have enjoyed your posts over the years. No doubt that playing steel guitar has enriched my life and taken me places that I otherwise would have never been. So keep the posts coming and Merry Christmas to you and your family
