Peterson Strobo Plus ?

Post by Bruce Zumsteg »

Can I transfer one of my 'sweetener' configurations on my Strobo Plus to another identical tuner?
If so, please explain the procedure in detail. Thanks!

I think you have to plug it to your computer on the Peterson site. Save the file in their format. Name it of course in the sweetener section and then swap pedals and download it. Pull up the user manual from their site. It has the exact directions.

You may need to register the second device at the site first. And be sure to use a chrome browser. I was having trouble downloading my custom sweeteners to my tuner, but then realized it was only because I was using a Safari browser and that will not work for the download step. Although you can design your tunings using Safari, it won’t work forthe final transfer to your tuner.

Hi Bruce,

Both tuners (the one with the desired configuration (Tuner A) and the one you want to copy that configuration to (Tuner B) need to be registered to you here:

https://www.petersontuners.com/register/

Then, on your account page here:

https://www.petersontuners.com/account/

...mouse over the icon of the StroboPLUS HD with the configuration you want to copy (Tuner A), a bunch of buttons will appear under the tuner - including a "Share Icon", click on that icon:

A list of your other registered tuners will appear - including Tuner B.
Click on the icon of the tuner you want to copy the config to (Tuner B), connect Tuner B to your computer and follow the prompt to update its configuration to be the same as Tuner A.

Regarding connecting a tuner to a computer:

User Sweetener configurations and firmware are updated from our servers via a Mac or a PC computer browser to your tuner (tablets or phones won't work for this).

Currently, up-to-date versions of the following browsers are compatible: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Comodo Dragon and Vivaldi - with others to follow.
Mozilla Firefox/Safari do not offer USB dual connectivity yet, we're told that they are working on it but as yet they are not useable.

Just use one of the abovementioned browsers when you plug your tuner into your computer (use a data-transfer capable Standard USB to Micro USB cable - a simple USB charging cable will not work although it looks identical).
Also, make sure the browser you use is up-to-date.

Then click on "Find Device":

https://www.petersontuners.com/connect/

Allow a few minutes for the two to pair and follow the prompts to update your tuner's firmware (if applicable).

Configure your tuner here:

https://www.petersontuners.com/configure/

Put together a list of the Sweeteners you need, omitting those you don't, you can also visit the shared page to add new Sweeteners:

https://www.petersontuners.com/sweeteners/shared/

...or design your own:
