Carter D10

Post by Klym Bolechowsky »

Hi Everyone,

I'm learning on my Carter D10. I'm making progress but of course have a long way to go yet. Is the D10 model considered a "Carter Starter"? This is the only pedal steel I have ever played so I have nothing to compare it to. Can this be my forever guitar or should I consider an upgrade as I improve?

Thanks

That is not a "Starter." It's the Pro model. You're good to go... or at least Buddy Emmons thought so:

"... I have two Legrande lll models, one of which I used on Gene Watson's last album. Just for the record, I used a Carter D-10 on Gene's Gospel album and for all practical purposes, I can't tell a dime's worth of difference, but what do I know?" (2/17/02)

Thanks Tucker! Best news I've had in a while! I might look for a single E9 neck guitar at some point which will be more portable for going to jam sessions.
