Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Herb

Gary P and I are best of friends and I used to book him out here in Western Oklahoma long time ago! I always liked your playing and so did everybody else! I don’t think you came out here to any of his gigs we produced but I saw you with him at other gigs. Okie City hosted the 50th annual Harley Davidson Convention back in the 80’s and I booked David Alan Coe and Gary P at the Notorious Zoo Ampitheatre in Northeast OKC! There were more bikers at that gig than any show out on ever In our area. I also had him in Sayre Oklahoma(The hometown of Walter Merrick and Charlie Plummer). Also booked him in Cheyenne Oklahoma way back there. Herb you made the fans mighty proud when you played that Steel Guitar with every band but with Gary P it was out of this World! I have been a fan of Herb Steiner and always will!

Also you and Gary and Ruth all live in Spicewood / Marble Falls now don’t you? I remember when Gary and Ruth Sold their Ranch in Hanna Oklahoma and moved to the Hill Country. I was at every outdoor gig Gary produced at his Ranch in Hanna back then. Larry Joe Taylor, Tommy Alverson, Pat Henney? May not have his last name right? Bonnie Hearn, many more I can’t remember.Back in the early days. Glad to see you on this forum Herb! I am 68 now and 2 months ago bought a Pedal Steel and really enjoy learning the instrument! Got a long way to go but heck time is all we got at this point, and probably on the home stretch.

Respectfully

Thanks for posting that, Herb!

Earlier this year, Gary and the band were the closing act for our band's performance at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show.

 :P
