Chuck Snider

Post by Jon Light (deceased) »

As Facebook informed me that today is his birthday, I went over to say Hey and I learned that he died in June.
We were not friends in any way I would measure that but we were friendly and we'd had several steel guitar-related conversations. He was a good guy.
And actually, knowing that he was a good guy and knowing that I enjoyed talking with him.....maybe we were friends.
All I know is that it made me sad to learn that he lost his long battle with health issues at age 70.

Is the Chuck Snider you are talking about, Live in North Carolina? A Chuck Snider once lived in West Virginia where I became friends with him. He moved to N.C. to be close his grand children. About 2-3years ago.
He was into Emmons P/P's.

Bobby -- I believe that this is the same guy. I believe he moved to Chapel Hill from WV.

We'd talked about the p/p he was rebuilding and we shared thoughts & ideas about other PSG mechanical puzzles.

He was living with congestive heart failure for quite a while and apparently he died during surgery. Pretty much my age. A real shame.

I'm sorry to hear this. Back in the late aughts he and I communicated for a bit and had a steel hang. He was always very nice and enthusiastic about the steel guitar and music in general. RIP.
