Please Close - Attaching Loose Power Transformer

Post by Chris Bauer »

Okay my amp-literate friends… I got to my Thursday show and the transformer in my Fender head was literally hanging by the wires. I found two nuts loose in the cabinet but no other parts so far.

Because I’m a complete mechanical and electronics nincompoop:

1. What tools and parts do I need to get the transformer re-mounted?

2. Are there any other things a total non-tech should do or not do as a part of this process? Or are there possible hidden issues and I shouldn’t even try this at all and take it straight to a tech instead?

Update - the STRONG consensus is to take it to a tech. So, off it goes.

I assume it was the OT with only 2 fasteners, line it up with the holes, and install the appropriate length screws. If the nuts aren't the "Kep" type I would use them, or at least a dab of nail polish on the threads!
