The concave neck for stringed instruments puts the thumb in the "correct" position for classical guitar playing and gives better for smaller hands to access the strings.
I know the classical players are very set in their ways and don't expect the classical guitar builders to be clamoring to incorporate the design into their guitars. The guitar neck hasn't changed since before powdered wigs.
Great for cellos and basses and electric guitars too.
