Here's a real nice song with Bobby Black with Commander Cody. Great singing, great playing, great to listen to...enjoy!

Nicolette Larson sounds like Linda Rondstadt on this cut. Just fantastic!

Couldn't help but notice Cody's road case/seat has "Lost Planet Airmen" covered over with stage tape...they were going by the "Commander Cody Band" by this time.

Nevertheless, some great picking by Mr. Black and a great vocal performance by the late Nicolette Larson.

Ran across this recently and what a treat to listen to some of my favorite singers and players. Bobby is so tasteful and his steel is so sweet, I wonder what his set up was back then….

My favorite band when a senior in High School in the greatest year which was 1974! (50 years ago this year!) Bill Kirchen (great tele player) out the band together with George Frayne back in 1967, then it changed names in 1977. Bill is a friend of mine and lives in Austin Tx. Now and keeping busy doing the “Hot Rod Lincoln” Tour around the Midwest. What great times those days were back then! Where did they go? I have heard Bill talk about Bobby Black many times. He was a Great Pedal Steel Player!!! Ray Charles could see that!

Thanks for the Memories!

An ‘all around’ great performance by both Nicolette and band.

‘Played The Commanders LPs very often during my college days ….. Bobby Black was (and remains) a huge influence to many Steelers.

Bobby Black runs stride for stride with all the big dogs of steel guitar. As good as this band was, he made them better. Maybe they all stepped up their game when he was with them. And this song is one of those songs that has everything - great playing, great singing (Nicolette 😍), a sense of humor, and respect for an audience to have the capacity to appreciate everything a great country song can be. Thank you for posting!
