Tips for recording Revelation preamp direct???
I am planning to do some studio work this week and would like to know if any of you have recorded direct with your Revelation preamp. I am planning to use the XLR outs on the unit. Would a Direct Box do anything positive for the sound?
Any advice on how you may have recorded with yours would be interesting to me, including your settings. I'm always open to trying something new/different.
The chain will be Zum Hybrid to Telonics VP with three cord hookup to Revelation.
Thanks!

I use the Sarno V8 for direct, and while the line out direct to the interface line in works well, I think it sounds better coming out the transformer balanced XLR (mic level) into a great sounding mic preamp ( usually a Neve or API for me)...YMMV...

Really? Two pre-amps at once? How does the second one help?John Macy wrote:I use the Sarno V8 for direct, and while the line out direct to the interface line in works well, I think it sounds better coming out the transformer balanced XLR (mic level) into a great sounding mic preamp ( usually a Neve or API for me)...YMMV...
