Laptop for pro tools

Post by John Bumbarger »

I decided to go with Pro Tools Express., I want to get a laptop to use exclusivity with Pro Tools. I was looking at a Dell Computer with a 500gb SSD drive and 4gb of Ram. Would this work out? What is anyone else using ?

Just one thing John,
Unless Pro-Tools "Express" is highly optimized for less demand, 4gb of RAM *might be a little light for real-time recording/editing. That being said, I'm not familiar with the express version. I'd check the hardware requirements. Good luck

I have been running PT 8 on a Win Xp PC with 4 gig ram, the effects bin and some of the app programs such a Easy Drummer or Fender Amplitube can be ram sucking , just keep that in mind, otherwise no issues. I use a Maudio delta 6 internal PC card as well, no USB or Firewire.

You should acquire an external drive though, run the program from the LTop , store eternally.
