NOOB question please be patient

Post by Bernie Straub »

New to home recording, that is. I am a seasoned (40 year) psg player. Some local bands are asking me to add psg to their mp3 songs. So, my goal is limited to adding a psg track to the existing mp3 and mixing down the result. Do I really need a computer and DAW software, or can I go an easier route, say the TASCAM DP-008EX to get this done? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can use the DP-008EX for the purpose as you stated, and no, you don't need a computer/software.

You record a stereo (presumably) mix to two channels designated as left and right, then record your part(s) on any of the remaining channels and mix to taste to a final stereo track.

If the band has access to the multi-track master, they could even fly in the individual steel track wave file and do a complete remix.

it's done all the time.....
Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else
