cd's for for recording music
I've been using Maxell Music Pro's, but they quit making them or I just don't know where to get them. What is the best or next best CD's to use?
thanks in advance John W.

Are you using an old standalone CD recorder that requires the "music" CD's or are you using the PC to make audio CD's? If you are using the PC you don't need the "music" CD's - just regular "Data" CD-R's are all that you need.
I use Ink Jet printable Taiyo-Yuden CD-R's for audio CD production in my home recording studio. Taiyo-Yuden is considered the top line CD-R's.
I get mine from the Supermedia Store

I use an Epson Artisan 700 series printer which comes with a separate CD tray that pops out of the front of the printer. With "hub printable" CD's the print covers most of the CD face and does not run or smear even with a lot of handling. Magic Mouse Productions "Discus" CD printing software gives professional looking CD's graphics with very little effort and almost no learning curve:

The Epson 800 series has a built in tray for discs, seems to work a little better and faster than the older ones with the separate tray (I've had two of those).
The Epson models that print on CD/DVD's come with "Print CD" program for printing on CD/DVD's and Jewel Case inserts, but I primarily use the mentioned Discus program.

If HP has stopped making the CD printers than I'd better hold on to mine.
I had two different Epsons and both of them kept catching the CDs. They also left streak marks on my CDs. I've had my HP C5280 for about 4 years and printed hundreds of CDs with it.
To this day no streaks and no jams. I can't say that about the Epson.

Jack
Thanks.
I have been looking at Office Max for an upgrade but haven't seen one in the stores.
I'll check out the Epson web site as it's been about 5 years that I've had the HP.
