Audacity reverb settings ?
Has anyone got any decent reverb settings using the inbuilt 'gverb' in Audacity ?
There are so many parameters that it is difficult to find a nice reverb

Hi Richard,
I use Audacity for a lot of things, and I like it very much. That said, G-Verb is about useless to me. Search the net for some free reverb plug ins.
Most any VST plug in will work in Audacity, and there are some pretty good ones available.
Good Luck.

Does Audacity not have embedded presets for the effects and processors ?
Presets as we all should know, are patches written by "engineers" and named for specific functions/uses, although maybe not 100% perfect they are real close in the task. A great place to start when adding an effect . I'm not afraid to admit that I use presets for dynamic processing and effects all the time, yes I modify but I start with the presets. When I have one I modify, I save it with a new title for future use and tracks.
Is this not part of Audacity ?

It's not part of Audacity, at least not the version I have. I've never been able to get much useful out of G-verb either, and it's made even more difficult by the lack of 'real time' editing.
Reaper (free to try, cheap to buy) comes with some usable plugs.. just a bit more learning curve.

Years back I recall a friend who owned a music store in town telling me this about keyboards ...
You are not actually buying a keyboard, you are buying the patches written by the best engineers and musicians on records, the keyboard is included for free....

Effects are grayed out unless a track, or a portion of a track, has been selected. Once a selection has been made, all of the effects that could be applied in that context are available. If you Google for 'audacity tutorial' you should be able to find some fast, easy lessons to help you get the most out of Audacity. HTH.Fred Glave wrote:. . .
