What is the best approach to setup PodXT and Gearbox and/or Podfarm2 with Sonar?
1-How do you setup the PodXt to get a separate dry signal recorded onto a Sonar Track
and use the Gearbox/Podfarm plugin for tone options afterwards?
I cannot seem to get it right.
I always get a recording with the PodXt effects recorded onto the Sonar track.
I cannot get the dry signal.
My setup:
Windows XP SP3, Dell 650 2.79 Ghz, 2.00 Gb RAM.
My USB path:
Roland Sonic Cell is the USB Audio Card connected to the PC.
The PodXT is also connected through USB to the PC.
The Sonic Cell USB out feeds the Sonar tracks.
My Audio path:
PodXT Audio goes into Roland Sonic Cell Audio Card.
The Sonic Cell Audio out feeds the monitoring system pre-amp
(Edirol FA66 with no USB connection to the PC.
The Edirol FA66 is not used as an Audio Card at the moment.
It is only used as a mixer for the monitor system).
I tried Asio Drivers, WDM drivers, different connections, set the PodXT-out to Studio DIrect etc.
No Luck!
I could not find an answer on the Line6 forums either.

Yes Jack, you can do that.
But the general idea is that you can record a dry signal AND hear the patch you have chosen while you are recording in the monitor.
When the recording is done, you are supposed to be able to change the patch to another one.
I have done it with Gearbox a couple of years ago and I cannot remember how I wired the studio and what my DAW settings were.
UPDATE:
Unfortunately, the PODxt series only allows for Recording either the dry or processed signal at a time. However, you can record a dry signal, then use the re-amping features of the driver to process an already recorded audio file to record to another track. An explanation of how to use this Re-amping is available on pages 2.30 and 2.31 of the Gearbox 3.7 user guide:
