Compact Flash Card Question
I have a Fostex MR-8 recorder and it has a 128 Meg. compact flash card in it,I want to put a much larger card in it,is there a difference in cards? I noticed some are called Ultra I'm wondering if that will work in the unit,Thanks,Stu

Tony,I found a 1 gig Lexar card in a thrift store the other day for $3.50 and it works,I also found a 2 gig on ebay for $10.00 so I should be good for a while,I couldn't find the list of compatible cards on the Fostex site.

Late to the game on this but check here for list of compatible CF cards. The Delkins are the ones usually readily available. Just got an MR-8 myself. Fun machine.

Michael, yes the little Fostex is a great thing to have,My steel sounds great thru it's electronics...not sure why but it has great mids in the flat position.

I don't know if we're talking about the same machine, since my MR-8 doesn't have EQ. And, I have an updated list of CF cards to use. You can get most of them for around $10. If you want I'll email it to you when I get home.

Michael, yes we're talking about the same machine,no eq but there is something about the way it records that sounds great,I can't explain it but I've had old portastudios that also had a certain tone to them...if that makes any sense?
