Splitting Video Tracks

Post by Alan Brookes »

Bobby Lee brought up the subject of splitting Audio tracks. The corollary question is splitting Video tracks.

What software do you use for trimming video tracks ? I have a lot of discoordinated video clips which I would like to trim down and put into a sequence to create a composed video.

Also, how do you take the audio out of a video clip and replace it with a different audio ?

Macintosh? iMovie or Final Cut Pro.
Windows? Premiere.

I'm running Windows XP Pro. I originally had Vista on my machine but I removed it because it wouldn't play any of my music programs that I have so much invested in. :(

Windows Movie Maker was included with Windows XP as well.
I'm not sure what features are on that version. I have XP here but Windows Movie Maker crashes every time I try to run it. Maybe yours will run.

Alan, I just spotted your post and thought I reply.
I also run XP and I do a lot of video recording & editing.
The best program I've found is Cyberlink PowerDirector 6.
It's a do everthing editor with titles, transitions, chapters etc.
