For All Fallen Veterans
As the President of our local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, I was at our service today, and as I looked out into the crowd, a lot of them WW11 veterans, all I could think about was what these veterans actually had to go through. They were there risking their lives, a lot of them didn't come home. I can't imagine what it would be like to go through what they went through, and what their family's had to go through. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have the wonderful life we have, both here and in the USA, and many other countrys in the world. In saying this I am thanking all the veterans of all countries that fought for the freedom that we enjoy today.

I was hoping someone would remember to post an acknowledgement of Armistice Day. It grieves me to think of all the lives that were uselessly lost in WW1. Both of my grandfathers fought in WW1 and their descriptions of the conditions was ghastly. The "war to end all wars" didn't seem to work, and 91 years later we're still grieving in what seems a continual succession of conflicts. Let's hope that one day the world will truly be at peace, and we can bring all our boys home.

I appreciate the service and the sacrifice, that our brave men and women have done. And are currently doing.I have a good friend of mine that I used to work with, just came back from Iraq. I am also a PROUD SON of a Korean war vet also.My dad (whose no longer with us)told me, in one of the few times he talked about Korea, said it was a war, not a "POLICE ACTION or CONFLICT", like the media and the politicians said it was. I also have an uncle that was my dad's identical twin served in Korea, another uncle (whose no longer with us) serve in Korea, and another uncle ( whose no longer with us ) fought in WW II. He served in North Africa and the Battle of the Buldge. I praise them for their service. And I am proud of them. My brother-in-law was in the Army during Viet Nam, but he was stationed in Germany. America has seemed to have lost it love of patiotism.
Thank ya'll that have served. I didn't because of health and age reasons, I was too young for Viet Nam and too old for Desert storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. But I still honor those who have served, because I know if it wasn't for them... We wouldn't have the freedoms that we hold so dear and enjoy.
