Shelby Singleton gone at age 77

Post by Hal Higgins »

I learned today, through Bobbe Seymours Tips newsletter that Shelby Singleton of Sun/Plantation Records in Nashville, passed on at the age of 77. I got to do some recording in those studios in the mid-70's while with Rock-a-billy artist Sleepy LaBeef. He was the producer for Jeanne C. Riley's monster hit, Harper Valley PTA, and if I'm not mistaken, also produced some of David Allen Coes first records. Shelby was a great guy, and I know that he will be missed greatly.
