MP3 converter?

I need a program that can convert Windows Wave WMA files to MP3's,hopefully a free one that's easy to use.Thanks Stu ;-)

There are several free programs that will do it. I think there is an older version of Musicmatch Jukebox (not the newer Yahoo version) Also, try Winamp. Both of these are free.

Windows media player will convert it . Go to tools / plugins / audio converter...

CDex is the thing that you want Stu.I use only this one.
CDex includes 12 different compressed file encoders, including MP3, AAC, WMA, APE, and OGG, and also supports any external encoders.

I have the mp3 patch. the one Steinberg used to sell.
it works flawlessly and will extend the limit to endless amount.
I will send it to anyone that needs it.

John, FWIW: my WMP does not have the audio converter feature.

One can get the 'Plus! MP3 Audio Converter LE' by downloading the Windows Media Bonus Pack, but that appears to just increase the sound quality of an existing file - it does not change the file format & type.

Thanks John. Done it - but it appears to covert various file types to Windows Media Player format only (not convert anything to .mp3).

"Using Windows Media Encoding Script, you can take files with .wma, .wmv, .asf, .avi, .wav, .mpg, .mp3, .bmp, and .jpg file name extensions and compress them into Windows Media Format."
