Recording BAIB thru USB Port

Post by Rick Johnson »

Yeah, its me again.

I've created my first sample song
and saved it and tried to add some
guitar via my PODxt thru the USB
port of the computer. I downloaded
and installed the drivers from Line6.
I figured out how to change it to use
the PODxt instead of the sound card
and it lets me test the Recording
VU Meter level of the instrument but the output
VU meters won't work. Nothing records.
If I try and check my Set Recording Levels
the computer freezes up.

Thanks

Rick

Just wanted to let everyone who
might be watching this thread that I
have been talking to the Line6 techs
and their is a problem with BIAB
and the Line6 ASIO driver.
Line6 wants me to make my PODxt my default
sound card and plug my computer speakers
into the PODxt.

I tried using the 1/4" output on the PODxt
to the 1/8" input on the computer and it
worked but I still have a few bugs to iron out.

So much for the Line6 tech support.

Why not take the audio out from the POD XT and run it to the "line in" on the sound card. The output from the POD XT is "line level" and that's what a PC sound card takes (nearly line level). You wouldn't have to change any audio setup in the PC.

The Line In on a PC is stereo and you could even run stereo from the POD XT.

(The mic input on a PC is only mono even tho it uses a stereo jack. The ring on the mic jack is 5VDC that is used for a computer mic which is a condenser type).
