Whats a good drum machine for the 4/4

What brand of drum machine gives a good 4/4 shuffle if there is such a machine.

I tried BBs real drum brush sounds, but cant edit out all the SLAP! BAM!s when the patterns change from a A to B. Very anoying

Ive herd somewhere I think his name is Barton or ? has some drum patterns for the BB, just wonder if they are the same as the BB 66 Country patterns ?

Im using the BOSS DR-3 now but cant get that smooth open/closed high hat sound.

Are there any good PC software drums around ?

I see you are not getting much response to your question.

Maybe I can get things going by suggesting you go to www.alesis.com and checking out their drum machine.
I know nothing about it. All I know is they make some great quality sound units.

A very good pc program if you just want to use it like a drum machine will be Steinberg's groove agent.
also on the more inexpensive side cakewalk studio instruments is also good. with groove agent you get away from the machine feel more than the others. I use about 5 different programs for drums because I play them with a yamaha midi drum kit so I use them for the sounds not the patterns this way I can assign different program drums to different drums on the kit giving more variety of sound in my recordings.

If you're wanting drums only for recording, you should strongly consider one of the VSTi packages such as EZDrummer. It's, um, easy.

Hi Richard I know this pose is not real current but I never seen a post where you said you found what you wanted or any kind of a solution so I wanted to try to help with a possible solution that would be free.

The 1st obvious answer would be for you would be not put in any part markers because BIAB normally doesn't put drum fills in your composition unless you mark them with A/B part markers.

Number 2 suggestion write down the 4/4 shuffle style that you like in BIAB and email it to me and I'll edit the style and tell it never to play any fills no matter where you put part markers that way you could go from (cross stick/high hat) combo on verses to (ride cymbal/full snare) combos on the bridge and not have those drum fills that drive you crazy.

To have a style never play drum fills is a fairly easy edit and I could walk you thru it step by step sometime so you could edit your other styles as well. Once you learned how to remove/edit drum fills it would only take probably less than 5 minutes to edit them out of each of your favorite styles. Any way it's worth a thought if the fills are the only part of BIAB drums you don't like.

Thanks so much for the Info. I never knew part markers were adding drum fills glad to know this. I will remove the part markers. I have BB2008.5 now & really like the shuffle styles I purchased as an add on
