Others are still welcome to send me files to be added to the site. Folks who already did are still welcome to add more. As long as it's steel guitar music, I'll try to get it on there.

Hi Gary, I posted a short clip of "My Elusive Dreams" on the Forum a little while back.

It appears now on your website under the name of David Sanderson.

How did that happen?

I recorded this on my Sho-Bud The Pro III Custom directly into a PodXT.
I did the backing track in Biab and then fixed it Sonar.

You are welcome to keep it on your website, but please use the correct name, if you don't mind.
I hope this helps to keep your web site up to date.

As usual, my buddy Dan Dowd's tone is GREAT and his playing flawless as always! Dan I always appreciate your playing.

Peter, that's interesting. That's the file he sent me. Well, actually, it was in a different format and I converted it to .mp3.

Can't imagine why someone would want to take credit or another guy's tune. But I'll figure out what to do about it.

Gary, I personally do not think that David wanted to take the credit.
I think he just wanted to add a file he found on the Forum.
It is not a big deal. Image

You're right. I totally goofed on my end.

One of my emails to David...

Yep I got it converted. Took about 2 minutes one I loaded it into Sonar. Nice playing by the way. Is that your arrangement? Got any tab for it? I'll try to post it on the site this week sometime.

And his response...

Shucks no.Wish it was. This is Peter den Hortogh from Capetown, South Africa who was so nice to post it back in March I think. Hope this helps you.Very good arrangement.
Haven't been playing steel very long.Tried to a few years back.Didn't have a good guitar, plus not enough time to put into it like I should , but thanks to retirement from phone co. I now have plenty of time and I found good MCI 2/ 10 with 5 knee's.
Thanks to Steel Guitar forum & guys willing to help others , I'm learning to play what I thought was impossible to learn.Have played guitar for several years that helps out a lot,but what has helped more than anything is all the help from other members of steel guitar forum. Hope I will be able to help someone someday.

So I'll just change the name and a couple of other things and we should be good. Sorry about the mix-up. And thanks for letting me know about it.

Now on another NOTE (pun intended). Do you have anything else you'd like to add to the site?

And also, I think it would be cool if the folks submitting the tunes could also submit tablature, background tracks, or anything else that might be helpful to folks learning to play these tunes. Of course, all of this (even sending a song) it totally optional.

Anyway, I'll make the needed fixes.

Thanks for promising to fix this. Image

I am often starting a project like this one, but due to time restraints I only finish a small section. Of course, my friend Nic du Toit kills himself laughing, when I play him the short tunes.

Nic is a professional musician and engineer, and he always DOES finish his songs. He has already created 2 albums, with backing tracks and TAB. I recommend you ask him to donate a couple of tunes. I am sure he will do that. He helps a lot of forumites via email.

Here is his link and email: http://home.telkomsa.net/peterden/al%20saut

Yep. I've been to Nic's site several times and played through some of his tab. There's some good stuff for beginners on there.
