Are the archives of the "bar chatter" files available on cd.
There is so much good stuff there it seems a shame to have it closed.
Would anyone else like to see this for sale through the Forum? Thanks, Randy Reams

I don't think I'd pay for it, since you can still search it for free, online, and read all the contents. "Closed" only means you can't add any more to it. But it's still available to us.

I would like to read Bar chatter too as is was historically important. I can't open it either and read it. WhY ?...al

In order to read bar chatter you must indicate that you want all dates displayed.
This might take a while to load. I wish that it could be placed in a downloadable pdf file.

I use the Search function to get a list of messages in Bar Chatter.

Or you could just read them all in sequence. Start with http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum1/HTML/000001.html and just keep hitting the "next newest topic" link.

Here's how I access it. Go to any old page on the forum (as long as you're here, use this one). Click on the Search function near the top-right of the screen (under "Add a Reply"). In the "Search Forum/Archive" area, highlight "Bar Chatter". In the "Search by Date" area, highlight "Any Date". If you just wanna browse, leave everything else blank. No "Search Words". Then click on "Perform Search", and voila! A list of Bar Chatter topics should appear on your next screen. Of course, you could put in search words or a user name, if you want a more specific search, just like with subforums that are still open.
