If it's your party,band or whatever, play what you feel. That's it.

Paul C. I understand what you are saying. And I think everyone who does recording work has been in that situation at one time or another. The only thing you can do is play as close to what he wants and hope it will be better next time. Remember that not everyone has the same musical taste as you so you have to try and bend a little to meet them halfway. Sometimes you will have to deal with a songwriter or producer or multiples of the two on the same session that will hear it all differently and they will drag the whole session down. If it does not represent your best work or something you think is awful just grin and bear it get your money and hope they don't put your name on it. After all it's not wise to turn down work because not only will that person not call you again but word will get around and others won't either. Take care, Mike Sweeney
