Tell me about seats
Hello friends
Has anybody yet developed a steel seat that hides or protects the fabric portion for travel? Seems counter-intuitive to have case-type seat with three sides that will withstand wear and the fourth side made of fabric. Curious as to what people use who are on the road a lot. I have used a drum throne for many years myself. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Re: Tell me about seats
Most players put them in a road case same as amps or other gear for transport other than local events, but yes I have seen construction like you describe, just can't remember where.
Maybe the european seat builder that uses aluminum casing whose exact name and location escapes me.
EDIT: Yeah, I think this is it. Scott Dixon built seat with a hard cover for the seat:

Even with this, I think one needs recessed butterfly latches all around for airlines or other LD transport.

Re: Tell me about seats
My Steelers Choice seat has a back which provides a lot of protection for the seat, when folded down.
