Sitar Bar Users?
What are some songs that feature use of the flattened "sitar" bar. I've heard Mooney use one sparingly with Waylon other than that I'm drawing a blank.
Who else used one and on which recordings?

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

Do a search, the subjects been discussed before, but my favorite is Hal Rugg on Joan Baez's cover of Dylan's Love Is Just A Four Letter Word.

Paul Franklin used one on Lee Ann Womack's songs, "Why They Call It Fallin' and "I Hope You Dance"

Hal Rugg played some great steel (and dobro) on those sessions but the sitar sound on that track is Grady Martin playing a Danelectro Electric Sitar.
I talked with the producer of that album many years ago, and that came up.

There are also a few cuts of the Osborne brothers with Hal and a sitar bar.

It was a lipstick tube that was rounded off like a bar that his daughter gave him.

Hi John. Rusty Young Poco's Heart of the night. Have attached the version that my mate Mike and I recorded. The Sitar bit is at 1.59 I used a Snapon allen wrench holder that I tuned the Emmons with. Blink and you would miss it. Dave

I was going to post a cool clip of Hughey playing with Conway in Sweden(?)I saw on YouTube awhile back, but it must be deleted. They were black & white and not real good quality. Looked like John was playing through a Dual Showman or something like it. I assume it was Sweden because it looks like the show was presented by Hagstrum. Anyway, there was one great song he used the sitar bar on. There were multiple videos and at least one had Loretta with them.
I got one of the Hughey Bars from Conway's pilot. Seems like he might have made the first ones as it didn't have anything stamped on the end. Jim Johnson, if I remember correctly.
