Right, however it should be noted, A6 is most always tuned with a 5th (E) on the top string as in E-C#-A-F#-E-C#-A-F#

There are two popular C6 tunings:

3rd (E) on top: E-C-A-G-E-C-A-G
5th (G) on top: G-E-C-A-G-E-C-A

So transposing will only work if the C6 material uses the second tuning (5th on top).

It's been some time since I last looked but I recall Cindy Cashdollar's Western Swing videos use C6 with a G on top. That would be your starting point. Just apply it 3 frets down.

With A6 you can fatten up the gauges to fatten up your tone! From A6, it's an easy re-tune to B11 or even the C6 variation that has an E on the first string.

I have been focused on A6 and also struggle finding material. The best options I’ve found are using c6 tab and moving everything up three frets, and just focusing on the center 6 strings. I really like Doug Beaumier’s books, most of the arrangements are pretty movable.

I’ve also used some of Sebastian Müller’s great arrangements for high bass A from https://hawaiian-steel-guitar.com/. The fact that he doesn’t use the f# strings can make it a good challenge to figure out how to incorporate if (or avoid it entirely). I’d definitely put his arrangements as intermediate to advanced, but really great.

I’ve taken lessons from Ethan Shaw too, and he focuses a lot on A6. (I think he was a student of Herb Remington). I’m not sure if he does Skype.

IF you can find them Ernie Ball put out a series of A6th instruction folios. Either five or six folios in the complete set. First started with the original old (low to high) AC#EAC#E 6 string tuning, then to the standard (low to high) F#AC#EF#AC#E 8 string tuning, and finally beginning pedals.
