Been playing through it for a couple of weeks. I have an outboard tube spring reverb right before it and a furlong split cab powering it. I didn't really get what all the fuss was about until I switched back yesterday to my usual tube amp. Everything was off, especially the high end. It drove me mad and I ran back to sesh 400 set up. It is such a beautiful sound, the EQ is perfect. Agree with everyone. It's a great box. Also seem to be getting a tiny little bit of tubey compression and hair on top just like I like. Not really sure if it's the outboard verb. Future classic pedal.

Steve I will be bringing mine to Dublin as well :-} ... just played my first live gig with it and loved it, Benado PF Steel dream, Peterson tuner, Sesh 400, Jay Ganz Straight Ahead power amp - Telonics 15" cabinet.
Did some tracking with it earlier in the week too and it sounded divine....

I’ve been loving my Sesh 400. I use it with my Quilter 101 Mini and a reverb pedal through a 2x10” cab and it sounds so great. It’s given me way more flexibility and control over my sound. With all that I’d love to get feedback on settings and different ways people are hooking it up. Just can’t say enough about how much I like the Sesh 400. Such a great unit.

Roger, what worked for me is setting the toggle to FRFR and then turn the bass, mid and treble knobs to 12:00 O'clock as mentioned in the manual. It made a big difference for me. Then you don't have to use the tone controls on the 202. Only using the input jack.

Here's my concern: I have a couple of MosValve 100W amps with BW 1203s and 1201s and the SE70 m/fx unit in front. Power is good enough and I love it for straight guitar or lap steel, but it's hard to get really good body for pedal steel. I have used it for pedal steel, but it just lacks something.

Just wondering if that Sesh 400 would warm the amp up enough to justify the cost. I've used my TubeWorks stereo reverb, sort of a preamp/eq as well as reverb effect, but that doesn't do it.

I will say this. Whatever I’ve put the Sesh in front of, has really helped. I’ve put it in front of my Fender Tonemaster Twin and it’s taken it to another level!!

Danny, since the Twin doesn’t have an effects loop, I assume you went in direct. Did you set the controls flat on the Twin, or use both of the preamps to shape your tone?

I left my Twin's controls as is, then set the Sesh on a "Unity" gain, which is to say set the Master and Sens at about 9:30 o'clock. Then I tweaked those up some as well as some of the other knobs on the Sesh, to taste. It sounded really good.

I believe the Sesh has made my Tone block sound better the way I like. Before that, the Tone Block was ok, but nothing great.

Now I have to try my Sesh on a couple other amps I have.

It's 4 bands:

Bass
Mid dip with frequency sweep control, mostly just dipping, no for mid boosting.
Treble, mostly right around 2kHz
Presence: high treble content

It does exactly what a real Session 400 does regarding tone shaping and gain.

I'm using mine on the road in front of my milkman and I've used it at home into my Bad Dawg p2p. Both are excellent, running it at 9:30 for unity gain, so it's really just an eq before the amp. Still get the tube warmth, but with the tight bass and nice mids from a session 400.

I just noticed the Sesh appears to take 9V center positive, not negative, for power. I've been running center negative to it from my Zuma No problems so far, but I haven't seen anyone else mention center positive for it. Anybody doing that? Certainly don't wanna mess up anything, I love this box.
