Emmons C6th "Pockets" articles

Post by Andy Volk »

For those who've never seen them, Buddy Emmon's wrote some helpful articles on scale pockets for C6th tuning for Tom Bradshaw's Steel Guitarist Magazine, back in the 80's. Though they were written for pedal steel, they're also germane to C6th non-pedal steel. Ernie Renn has kindly posted them on his Emmons site. Which C6 tuning is used in these examples?
Thanks,

I believe Buddy uses the standard C6th pedal steel tuning (high to low) GECAGECAFC. He may use a D on top. Carl Dixon - am I correct? For non-pedal C6th, just use his tab for strings 2-7 (6-string guitar)or strings 2-9 (8-string guitar).

Looking at the charts, it appears to be a D on top.
