Austin is HOT!

Post by Joe E »

Hey Gang,

Not only is Austin Hot (113 deg when I arrived), but it is HOT!!! East 6th street host the best players. I haven't heard any steels yet, but the pickin here is as good as anywhere in the world.

THe Joe Richardson band (a 3 pc blues band) was smokin' last night. Joe's guitar playing was as good as it gets.

I can't wait to hear Ricky Davis on Monday night! If what I've heard so far is any indication of the caliber of musicians out here, I'm in for another great week of music.

Hey Joe, where ya goin' with that beer in your hand? Image

No, seriously, I'll be playing a Happy Hour gig with Teri Joyce at Jovita's this evening (Sunday) from 6-8pm. Jovita's is located at 1617 South First St., in South Austin.

Come on out if you've a chance and say "hey."

If you're down on 6th st tonight, we do a blues jam at the 311 (311 E. 6th st - of course) on Sunday til 2AM. Bring your steel down and play some blues!
The fiddle player from the country band I play with comes in and plays sometimes, it's a blast to do something a little different.
And yea, it's been a little warm but it's cooled off now - it's only been in the high 90s. Welcome to TX!
[This message was edited by Rich Young on 10 September 2000 at 11:27 AM.]
