Latency correction for Audacity 2.0 windows 7
Hey guys, I just got a new laptop with windows 7 and just downloaded Audacity 2.0. I don't know how many of you know but in the preferences in recording section, there is a latency correction function. I have a different version of Audacity on my desk top which has windows XP service pack 2. I didnt check yet but I hope I can upgrade the program on my XP becuase that is the computer I record on. I sure am glad they did this becuase it was a nusiance having to record everything live. Hope this helps.

Thats right Jack. I am going to reinstll Audacity on my XP computer and hopefully they did upgrade and included this feature since I installed it. Its too bad they dont have automatic upgrades with this program so I would urge all of you audactiy users to occasionally reinstall this program to make sure you are up to date.

Just remember Audacity is a "freebie" program. It doesn't offer a lot of the features, such as automatic updates, etc, that paid programs provide.
If you really want a recording program I would suggest you consider a full feature DAW program. Some are relatively inexpensive. I have a home recording studio but I use a full featured professional program, Sonar X2 (Producer Version). I think there is a starter version of Sonar relatively cheap. There is also the shareware "Reaper" recording program.
