In Loving Memory of Richard Elkins 5/27/47 to 9/1/09

Post by Richard Elkins »

Richard Allen Elkins, a lover of playing the steel guitar and spending countless hours on this website, passed away at around 3pm on tuesday sept 1. I am his daughter, Lacey. I found him lying on his back as at his steel guitar. It appeared as if while he was playing the guitar, he heart just gave up and he fell backwards off the seat. My father was all I have ever had and all i have ever known. He has been the only reason I had not given up on life. My father was a well loved, respected, fun loving, free spirited, forgiving and caring person. All he wanted was to see his little girl get her life together before he passed. That was his only wish. And that didnt happen... It all happened too soon. Well, to end this, I just wanted to say that he loved this site so incredibly much and was always calling me downstairs to show me things and he would always be so happy and proud when he did. Thanks to all of you who help make this site possible. My dad truly loved it...
In loving memory, Richard elkins. (a father, grandfather, mentor, friend and so much more)

That little girl can still get her life together, in honor of her Dad. I am very sorry for your loss..

I agree with what Hook said, but would also like to add this. God put us here for his purpose. Find that purpose in life. Jerry

Lacey, sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad.I will pray for you with understanding. I ask that you pray for my daughter who is also undergoing some stuggles.

Lacey, the steel guitar community is sorry for the loss of your Dad as Dad's can't be replaced. Please don't give up on yourself and your family however and think of dad each & every time you have no desire to try & get it right. Do it for him. Thanks for making us aware of his untimely death and will pray for you & your family through these most difficult times. This steel community has been a real blessing to so many and in many different ways.
