Randy Reeves et al Cubase LE4?

I remember Randy saying he had a Lexicon Lambda, I just got one, and like it. The question is; the Lambda came with LE4, which I can't get to work. I have Vista, if that is important. I got LE4 to recognise the Lambda, but it just won't record anything. Anybody have a clue? In the meanwhile I am using Audacity.

Delvin, I do have the Lexicon Lambda and my recording software is Cubase Essential 4. my computer is a PC running XP. I checked out Vista when it was introduced and felt it wasn't for me; I don't use my computer that way. and it turned out my decision was a good one.
Vista has caused many troubles. I believe the seeming incompatibility can be corrected with the recording devices we use.
Cubase has a support forum that is pretty good. your issue has been a common topic.

FAQs may also be a read.

it hs been a while since I set up my interface and my computer. I don't remember with any authority. one important thing is getting the drivers recognized. I think under Preferences>device set up.

so just what do you can't make work?
do you have the CubaseE4 icon on your desktop?
do you know how to open and name a recording session?
can you create aa track And record anything?

hang in there. Cubase E4 is excellent. far superior in sound quality.

Delvin, I have the same things you mentioned and they all worked fine with Vista.

Well then it must be something I did. I'll check it out. But I got Audacity working no problem $:\$ . I would still like to get LE4 working. Thanks guys.

I just got up and running with Cubase Le and a Lexicon Lambda, running on Windows Vista. In my case, it took four separate installations of the software disc to get things-- drivers, etc.-- going properly.
I also had to mess around a bit with the "Devices" settings, as the default configurations were not right for my system.
Did you check your audio hardware and select the Lambda as the device for recording? -- that was something I had to do manually.

I also have Lambda and Cubase4 and Vista and have just been getting back into it.
It's a frustrating program at first. Big learning curve. When you record, you have to go into DEVICE control and select LambdaASIO. Then when you want to hear playback, you have to go back in Device Control and change Lambda to either your audio sound card that has ASIO or the ActiveX ASIO, all in the drop down menu.

When you first start PROJECT, there's a small window that drops down, and you have to click on DEFAULT to open up the recording field. I forget right now, but that little drop down window - you have to search for it.

BTW - I'm having a hard time locating the reverb/effects plug-in, PANTHEON, that came with Lamba and works within CubaseLE4. I found it when I first started using this, but right now, I can't. It's somewhere in one of the drop down menus. Does anyone know how to access it?

Chip. all this digital program stuff has a steep learning curve for me. once I begin to go through things, repeating a process over and over things start making sense.
I have an understanding of all the small pictures whizzing by, so to speak, and when lucky, get the whole picture.

setting up takes time and searching, but once you have the Lambda ASIO locked in opening a recording project is very easy. I like how all the VST instruments and effects are right there.
