Question for Cool Edit Pro users

Post by winston »

While recording the other day I discovered that when I raise or lower the volume of a track or mute a track it takes almost 10 seconds to carry out the command. Everything else is working fine. I did not want to do a re-install if I don't need to. I am running xp with 1G memory. Been using this setup for 4 or 5 years with no problems until now. Anyone else experience this?? thanks Winston May

My first concern would be that there
may be programs running in the back-
ground thar are hogging resources.

Assuming you're running Windows (?),
run MSCONFIG, look at Startup and see
what all is running and turn off what
you don't need running.

It's clearly a resource thing, there's too much running in the background that you probably do not even know is running such as virus and anti spam stuff.

Thanks for the replys. I found out the problem. It was in the buffer settings. I had a problem the other night and my computer almost crashed. After getting it running again this problem came up. I have no idea why the buffer setting changed. Everything is fine now. thanks again. Winston May
