Recording sermons on camera for dvd's

I now am voice recording the sermons but am considering going to DVD's . I bring the cd's home and copy them each week on printable cd's and mail them out to from 8 to 12 people. If I go to DVD's I'll need to get a modern but not too expensive camera, (I have tripods) and record. Question -- what is the easiest way to record on a camera and then convert to a DVD copier ?? Most camera's do not record on DVD's right ? Thanks, Bill

Bill, most DVD burner/players have an input that is compatible with most modern video cameras. All you have to do is record your sermon with the camera then connect it to the DVD burner/player to make a DVD, then it's just a matter of copying the burned DVD.

Thanks, Guys--I actually don't have a camera yet so options are available. From what I can tell so far, I can record the sermon, come home and hook the camera up to my computer and burn the dvd. I have to be careful what format it is burned in so as to allow the duplicator to work and the end result to play in all home players ?? I also want to insert two or three (track numbers ?) or what ever--so one can play only that portion if desired. My computer program should do that ?
Also, I see duplicators may contain an optional Hard Drive. What is the advantage of that ? I would need to run it throgh a monitor to be able to use the hard drive right ?

If you have a good DVD authoring program, you should be able to insert the chapters in the DVD.

The hard drive, I assume, is there to speed up burning multiple copies and avoid any sort of buffering issues.

If you need to edit the sermons before copying them, you need to import them into a computer with video editing software.

If you do not need to edit them, SONY makes a stand-alone DVD recorder that is fairly small and not too expensive. With it, you can record the sermon directly on to the DVD. You will not need to tape it. The DVD recorder accepts a direct input from almost any digital camera.

We have a "live-streaming" server where you can post your messages on the internet and you do not need to duplicate them. People simply go to your web page and view them there.
