I Life, 08, I Movie 7.1.4 Mac Questions

Post by John Walden »

Hi, I recently got a new Mac Pro with I Life 08. I'm trying to understand I Movie, audio. My issue is a video I had done of a 3 hr show, and the video guy used two mics. One on stage and one off the camera. My audio is mostly on the left of the stereo spectrum. I don't care so much about stereo, but would like to have a balance of what is on the left to be the same on the right. I don't seem to be able to find a way, within the program, to balance it out. Anyone know about this program ? I'm just trying to edit the movie down a bit, and I'm guessing that keeping the audio / video sync, would be very important.
Thanks, J. W.

I don't know the program you spoke of but if it has editing capabilities, you need to get into the audio properties and make the file a mono file. A lot of audio apps will allow you to import audio from a video file...you can make the change there and export that file, (with the same properties, only now in mono), and then import that back to your I-Mac program.

Thanks, Robby, I have an, I Movie for dummies 05, but it is a lot different than 08. Maybe I'll get lucky, and someone out there will know what direction I should be looking in. I have looked, and played with every audio control I can find, to no avail. I'm guessing that I need to export all the audio, re-mix, and import it, fixed, and sync-it-up.
Sorry if this post is in the wrong section.
Thanks again Robby,

I would say that is the quickest way to get it done. If you start with a zero time line, it should line up with no problems when you import the file back into your video.
