World´s shrinkin´,Mr Edlund...I was NOT surprised
to to learn that Your Ribbon-mike performed
favourably...OK,You implied that the mike is a
cheapo,but disregarding that...Ribbon mikes are
great in most close-miking situations where there´s
an amp involved ; I have two Ribbons in the locker,
one Crowley & Tripp Naked Eye & one Oktava ML 52-2,
and they come in handy every so often ; see You back
in Sweden...McUtsi

You fellows that have mentioned using ribbon mics...quick question. I'm assuming the mic you used had a figure 8 polar pattern, did it pick up any pedal mechanical noises from the back half?

Yes,Brian...that´s an issue ; I always mount the
mike inside the sE Electronics Reflexion Filter
and place the assembly in front of the amp,and
this procedure eliminates the majority of the
aforementioned problems ; it works for me.McUtsi

I record My steel Dir & I use A mic AT the Same Time And Get A Killer Sound That Way You Can Mix Your Track's Together At Mix Down Work's Great For Me Good Luck.
