Does Tracy Lawrence carry a steel player on the road?

not positive, but the last I heard, no.

He had a steel player at one time named Loren Nelson, who plays an Emmons, but Loren now plays for Tanya Tucker, last I heard

Gary, we did a package show with him a couple of years ago, and at that time, he did not have one. He has a very nice crew of guys. Very approachable...TL included.

It's a shame if he doesn't have one. He's one of my favorite singers, and steel guitar was so prominent in many of his songs. That said, I would still go see him without a steel guitar.

I was on a show with Tracy last year just before the pandemic hit; excellent band with fiddle, but no steel.

Agreed with all above - when I've seen Tracy live it's been with a great band (exceptional fiddler) but no steel guitar unfortunately.

Did a show at Ponderosa Park in Salem ,Ohio many years ago. Tracy had John David Call playing for him at that time.

For what its worth, after Sonny Garrish was elected into the SG HOF, I asked him what his latest project was. Sonny replied he had just finished re-recording a bunch of Tracy Lawrence's prior hits in order for Tracy Lawrence to sell CD's at his concerts.
